The Laufenburg technology center will eventually have dimensions of 168 meters in length and 79 meters in width.
The world's largest and most modern redox flow battery storage system will be built on an area of over 20,000 square meters. It will have a total capacity of 1.6 gigawatt-hours and a power output of 800 megawatts. (Information provided without guarantee)
In addition to the battery storage facility, a data center for artificial intelligence and a wind tunnel for research and development are being built.

- By the end of December 2025, half of the excavation had been completed. On the left side of FlexBase, the depth is now at -19m of -27m. Status as of January 14, 2026
- By mid-February, a depth of 25m had been reached on the east side.
- By March 2026, the desired depth of 27 meters had been reached.
- On March 20, 2026, the first foundation slab, 140 cm thick, was poured. The rest will follow on Monday and Tuesday.

- In mid-May 2026, the new building will "slowly" rise in height. Support pillars and walls will be poured with concrete, and the first part of the 3rd basement floor will be poured.
